Born from our experience as beauty professionals, conscious consumers, and environmental advocates, Blu & Green was created to eliminate the compromises that have long plagued hair care. We focus on high-performance formulations powered by clean, bioengineered, and botanically derived ingredients. And we push waste and plastic reduction as far as possible without sacrificing results.

The idea sparked when James realized there was nothing on the market that met the standards his celebrity and fashion clients demanded and aligned with his non-toxic, low-waste values. So we set out to create what didn’t exist.

Rooted in the Nicoya Peninsula of Costa Rica — where nature’s purity meets the realities of modern pollution — our daily lives keep us grounded in purpose. When we surf and see plastic washing ashore, we’re reminded that the beauty industry must do better. And that every choice, big or small, matters.

FOUNDERS NOTE

James Pecis

James Pecis has spent decades exploring beauty. As one of the industry’s leading hair stylists, he has traveled the world working with Hailey Bieber, Billie Eilish, Gigi Hadid, Kaia Gerber, Christy Turlington, Kate Moss, and more, while working with global brands such as Chanel, Hermes, and Tom Brown. James has worked with most major hair care brands and was the global ambassador for Oribe. He has collaborated with every major fashion publication, including V, WSJ, W, and Vogue, British, French, Italian, and American.

Through this journey, James searched for products to support his creative vision and his client’s needs while being environmentally sound. Products with the performance qualities he needed without toxins, damaging aerosols, or plastic did not exist.

Now, James is rethinking hair care and styling with Blu & Green. Beauty is still for dreaming and everyone is invited to dream of a more beautiful world.

Part of our mission is to reduce plastic waste. We omit plastic wherever possible, from packaging to shipping. Being Certified Plastic Negative, we support the removal of nature-bound plastic to be recycled and repurposed, while supporting job creation and preserving biodiversity.
